Rockdale City Council Parking Survey presented to Rockdale Chamber of Commerce at November General Chamber Meeting.

In July 2006, 150 business managers in Rockdale Town Centre were interviewed regarding their perceptions of local parking. This represents over 40% of Rockdale Town Centre's 350+ businesses.

The survey covered parking for the business managers, staff and customers, parking spaces and time limits, and loading issues. A new parking map was also presented to raise awareness of available parking.

Feedback was also sought from respondents regarding other parking suggestions and issues

Rockdale Chamber of Commerce submission for capital work upgrades at War Memorial Site approved by Rockdale City Council.

In July 2006 the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce Committee agreed that a proposal for capital works upgrades be proposed to Rockdale City Council with the intention of beautifying the War Memorial site at the Seven Ways. This proposal highlighted the need to remove overhanging branches, repair seating, removal and planting of more attractive and hardy plant specimens and an complete overhaul to make the area an attractive area for people to enjoy lunch etc.

Further to our submission we received the following reply from Rockdale City Council

"Dear Mr Fraser
Re: Rockdale War Memorial - The Seven Ways, Rockdale
Council is pleased to inform you that your submission for upgrades to this area has been accepted and will be implemented in the 2000/07 financial year.
The proposed work is based on the nine main recommendation in you submission to Council. The work will be completed by Christmas 2006."
