The monthly Chamber of Commerce meeting was held at The Grand Hotel Boardroom and was sponsored by ITSYS Australia. Rockdale Streets Get 'Blasted'
During August 2004, Chamber Treasurer Joe Mandile requested that 'Gumbusters' be asked to conduct a trail of their hot water blast and glaze service on the streets of Rockdale. This request was actioned by Chamber President Shaun Fraser and Rockdale Town Centre co-ordinator Maria Tsounias to clean a section of Railway Street. Rockdale Council's Cleaning Team also attended the trial to show their service.

Ultimately, the two groups were faced with a 'clean off' to prove who could provide the most efficient service, with Gumbusters proving to be the most effecient. Post the 'clean off' meeting, Council's Cleaning manager arranged for Gumbusters to clean the streets of Rockdale on a 7 hour per week basis, in which each street will be covered within the next few months. Gumbusters will be blasting and glazing every Sunday and Monday night, until all streets are clean. The council scrubber will still be cleaning the streets to maintain the new level of cleanliness.

This achievement is a huge win for the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and should be celebrated.

After establishing the Rockdale Town Centre website some 14 months ago, the original design needed a facelift in more ways than one. To stay current in todays changing internet technologies, our site needed to incorporate the latest Javascript, PHP and Design Elements to continue to attract new and existing customers.

On Wednesday October 6, 2004 the rockdaletowncentre.org website will be officially relaunched at the monthly Chamber of Commerce meeting.
